One in Mercy serves as a regional ministry of reconciliation for Hardin County and surrounding communities – reconciling persons to God through His Son Jesus Christ and reconciling believers who have been separated and isolated by racial, relational and denominational barriers.
One in Mercy attempts to bring glory to God our Father and His Son Jesus Christ by showing mercy and loving one another. This website seeks to:
- Identify local needs in our community
- Describe available resources and ministries
- Provide a communication and resource tool for the local Body of Christ
- Help establish strategies for cooperative ministry efforts
- Identify all local congregations
- Identify contacts with each local congregation to facilitate communication
- Provide support, resources and information for pastors and congregations
- Publish a calendar for special events and multi-congregational services
- Encourage congregations to love one another, pray for one another and to fellowship with one another
Our local congregations remain far too isolated and separated from each other. How can we effectively reconcile the world to God when believers resist reconciliation with each other? The world will know we are His disciples when we love one another. And true love requires action. If we are to function as His Body, it is time to act like His Body.
No congregation can do everything, but every congregation can do something. God gives every believer and every congregation talents, abilities and resources. “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those
who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10) Unity will not increase until we “pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” (Romans 14:19)
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)
